1. You are able to speak with a German accent. Where and why did you learn it? Do you also speak German? And because you put it in your IMDb Resume, did it ever help you to get a role?

I studied dialects in college at West Virginia University, but I haven’t had the opportunity to use it. I’m ¼ German on my mother’s side, love the German language and hope to visit Germany some day. I can count to 10 and know a few phrases, but mostly from watching my favorite German film Wim Wender’s "Wings of Desire".

2. Even though you can not be seen in many roles on television or in movies, you have been acting for a long time in Theatre Productions. What is it that you like about theatre in particular: getting to act a story chronologically or receiving the immediate reaction of the audience?

Yes, most of my acting work is on stage and there is nothing like performing in front of a live audience. Although the process involved in film/TV and the theatre is different, there’s still the thrill of developing a character, rehearsing with the other actors and executing your performance for an audience... albeit the audience on the set is a bit more distracted by technical issues of the scene.

3. When and why did you decide to become an actress?

I’ve always been involved with the theatre. I can remember my first role as a "Press Agent" in an Elementary School play. I forgot my only line, but never forgot the rush that followed when the curtain came down. It’s a craft and career I’ve wanted to pursue all of my life.

4. When you first read the script of "Pushing Daisies" what did you think?

I remember thinking of how fanciful it was; just this element of fun and whimsy that resonated from the pages. The witty banter, the clever plot twists all made me feel so excited to be a part of something so fresh and new.

5. How was the audition for "Pushing Daisies"?

The audition was just another one I had for that week, but the callback was the best. I came into Cami Patton’s office (the Casting Director) and sitting there were Cami and several men. At the time I hadn’t a clue who they were, so I just delivered my lines as I had done in the first audition. As soon as I was done, one of the men stood up and said, enthusiastically, "You’re adorable." Everyone was smiling and after I left I thought to myself, "Well, I must have done something right." At the table read of "Pie-lette" I realized then who the men were at the callback: Bryan Fuller, Dan Jinks, Bruce Cohen and the enthusiastic man was Barry Sonnenfeld.

6. What is the show's key to success, according to you?

It’s whimsical, but not childish. I think that it appeals to every age group. The plots aren’t terribly complicated and the characters are just so much fun to root for. Its lighthearted romance between Ned and Chuck really tugs at your heartstrings and it’s all around beautifully written a filmed. It’s like when you unexpectedly come across a field of flowers, how it just takes your breath away.

7. I guess a question you need to answer a lot: What is your favourite kind of pie?

I LOVE Bavarian Cream!!!

8. In "Pushing Daisies" you play Ned's Mother in several flashbacks. Do you have contact with anyone of the main cast or do you shoot your scenes on your own?

All of my scenes are flashbacks, mostly with Young Ned and just yesterday on the set I finally met Ned’s Father, Jon Eric Price. Although I’ve met most of the main cast, I don’t think I’ll ever get to act with Lee, Anna, Chi or Kristin… then again you never know with this imaginative bunch of writers.

9. Can you give us some scoop about next season? Will we see more of Ned's Mother in the future?

I sure hope so! I believe that the storylines are moving more towards Ned’s Father, but I’ll always be a part of the "Daises" family.

10. Do you have any new projects you can tell us about?

I’m very proud of a wonderful short film called, "Still Me" ( www.brookwoodfilms.com ) about a married couple who’s lives are changed forever by the husband’s stroke. It has gotten positive reviews at several film festivals here in the States and the other lead, Scott King, received a Best Actor Award at the Spud Fest in Idaho run by “Gilligan’s Island”’s Mary Ann, Dawn Welles .

11. Since myFanbase is an online magazine about TV series, do you have a favorite one?

I love shows like “Pushing Daisies”; that blur the line between reality and fantasy. Scrubs, Ugly Betty, The Office are my favorites right now. Just like “PD” they’re fun, witty and make me smile long after the screen has gone dark.
