Wie wir bereits berichtet haben, hat James hat am 5. Juli 2003 seiner Verlobten Heather das Ja-Wort gegeben.

Endlich gibt es ein paar neue Fotos von der Hochzeit. Sie erschienen gemeinsam mit einem Artikel im US-Magazin "InStyle". Wir erfahren darin einige Einzelheiten. So fand die Feier im beschaulichen Rahmen mit nur 80 geladenen Gästen (darunter James DC-Kollegen Busy Philipps, Hal Ozsan, Michelle Williams und Mary-Margaret Humes) am Strand von Malibu statt. Ungewöhnlich war neben dem für eine Promi-Hochzeit sehr kleinen Rahmen das Catering: Es bestand unter anderem aus Hummer, Pommes Frites und Eiscreme.

"Crashing on someone's couch usually just leads to a backache, but it led James Van Der Beek to his future wife. Right after shooting the pilot for Dawson's Creek--but before the show that would make him a household name aired---Van Der Beek was simply another struggling actor. He was sleeping on the sofa a friens, actress Jennifer McComb(Zoolander), and there he met her sister Heather, also an acress(Party of Five). Sparks flew. After four years of dating, Van Der Beek popped the question, and 18 months later, the two 26-year olds got married. "It was amazing" says Van Der Beek. "The whole day was truly perfect."

setting the scene...The ceremony and reception were held at Saddle Rock Ranch in Malibu, on July 5.

on the list: Teri Polo and Eric Balfour, as well as Dawson's Creek alum Michelle Williams, were among the 80 guests.

the ceremony--Van Der Beek's uncle Bill, a retired New Jersey police chief, officiated.

the dress code--McComb wore a strapless A-line Vera Wang gown in antique ivory with lace appliques and ruffles. Van Der Beek donned a black Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

the reception--Wolfgang Puck catered, providing lobster salad, fliet mignon, french fries and mini ice cream cones. The R&B group Side Effect played Motown hits as guests danced up a storm. The couple so enjoyed their wedding, planned by Marianne Weiman-Nelson of Special Occasions, that "we've talked about doing it every year." says Van Der Beek. "To throw a party like that for everybody you love would be awesome."

The article also showed Heather's bouquet(bouquet of white gardenias) and went on to say: Guests cheered and showered the couple with rose petals as they walked down the aisle. The couple exchanged vows under a gazebo arch of jasmine, honeysuckle, hydrangeas and roses.

And finally, it also described the reception: Saddle Rock Ranch's tennis court was set for love after i was transformed by an open-air white organza tent, with chandeliers over each table; vintage mismatched silver and crystal vases filled with flowers including roses and freesia served as centerpeices. The triple berry wedding cake adorned with roses was from Sweet Lady Jane. The couples first dance was to Elton John's "Your Song".
