Ein neuer Film für Josh

Joshua Jackson dreht momentan in Pamplona, Spanien einen neuen Film mit dem Titel "Americano". Josh spielt an der Seite von Dennis Hopper und Leonor Varela die Rolle des Amerikaners Chris McKinley, der gerade das College beendet hat mit dem Rucksack durch Europa reist. Nun steht er kurz vor seiner Rückkehr in die USA

Die Dreharbeiten laufen bereits seit Mitte Juli. Das Drehbuch stammt von Kevin Noland, der auch Regie führt. Der Film kommt vorraussichtlich 2004 in die Kinos.

Americano

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Joshua Jackson, Dennis Hopper and Leonor Varela star in topline the indie feature "Americano," which is shooting in Pamplona, Spain.

The film, from rookie writer-director Kevin Noland, is set against the backdrop of the country's centuries-old Fiesta de San Fermin, better known as the running of the bulls at Pamplona. The shoot coincides with the nine-day festival, incorporating footage of the daily bull runs and nightly celebrations. Shooting also will segue to various small villages throughout Spain's region of Navarra and the Pyrenees mountains.

"Americano" centers around Chris McKinley (Jackson), a recent college graduate backpacking through Europe who savors his last three days of freedom before boarding the career fast track back in the United States. In Pamplona with two friends (Timm Sharp and Ruthanna Hopper), Chris meets an Australian thrill-seeker (Phil Barantini), a quintessential Spanish beauty (Varela) and an enigmatic provocateur (Dennis Hopper), all of whom encourage him to rethink his life. As the minutes and seconds until his departure tick away, Chris struggles with an age-old question: Should he follow the beaten path or risk it all on the road less traveled?

Jackson, best known for his work on "Dawson's Creek," has appeared in such features as "Skulls" and "The Safety of Objects." Hopper's recent credits include "Knockaround Guys" and the Fox television drama "24." Varela appeared in "Texas Rangers" and "The Tailor of Panama."
