James in "Standing Still"

Es sieht aus, als würde James sich nach dem Ende von Dawson´s Creek (die Dreharbeiten enden Ende April) nicht gerade auf die faule Haut legen. Neben dem Theaterstück "Rain Dance" wird er für eine Independent-Komödie arbeiten: Der Film trägt den Titel "Standing Still" und wird ab Ende März in Los Angeles gedreht. James spielt einen erfolgreichen Schauspieler, der seine Freunde vom College auf einer Hochzeit wiedersieht. Noch ist nicht bekannt, wer die anderen Rollen spielen wird. Van Der Beek has 'Standing' engagement

Feb. 24, 2003 James Van Der Beek is set to star in the indie comedy "Standing Still" for "Mean People Suck" helmer Matthew Weiss and First Addiction Films. Production will begin on the project in late March in Los Angeles. Penned by Matthew Perniciaro and Timm Sharp, "Standing" will see Van Der Beek star as a popular yet drunken actor who reconnects with a group of his college friends for a wedding several years after graduation. A clan of co-stars for the ensemble is expected to be announced shortly. Perniciaro is producing with his First Addiction Films partner Marty Poole. Karen Meisels is co-producing.
