James auf der Theaterbühne in NY

Nachdem ja in naher Zukunft erstmal kein neues Film- oder Serienprojekt für James in Sicht ist, kehrt er nun zu seien Wurzeln zurück. In New York wird er in dem Theaterstück "Rain Dance" auf der Bühne stehen. Das Drama stammt von Lanford Wilson, Regie führt Guy Sanville. James spielt die Rolle eines jungen Wissenschaftlers. "Rain Dance" hat am 15. April Premiere und ist bis zum 8. Juni in der New Yorker Signature Theatre Company zu sehen. Sobald es nähere Infos gibt, erfahrt Ihr sie hier. Ursprünglich wollte er Footballprofi werden, nach einer Verletzung konnte er diesen Sport jedoch nicht mehr ausüben. 1994 spielte er neben seiner späteren Dawson´s Creek Kollegin Mary Beth Peil (Grams) im Stück "Finding the sun". Das Stück stammt aus der Feder des dreifachen Pulitzerpreis-Gewinners Edward Albee, der auch Regie führte. Das Stück wurde in James Heimatort Connecticut aufgeführt. 20 Feb 2003 Signature Theatre Company will conclude its Lanford Wilson season with the New York premiere of Rain Dance, April 15-June 8. The New York Times reported James Van Der Beek will star. Van Der Beek is the heartthrob star of television's teen drama "Dawson's Creek." He will play a young scientist in the Lanford Wilson drama, which is directed by Guy Sanville, the artistic director of Michigan's Purple Rose, which commissioned the play (as well as commissioning Books of Days, the second selection in the Wilson season). Wilson is known for his lyric realism in such plays as THE HOT L BALTIMORE, The Rimers of Eldritch, Lemon Sky, Serenading Louie, Talley's Folly, Balm in Gilead, Angels Fall and Burn This. The Signature has had one of its most successful seasons ever with Wilson's works. The first show, Burn This, starring Ed Norton and Catherine Keener, became the company's biggest hit to date.
