Kurz & Knapp: Jane the Virgin, Supergirl, Oscars

Dies sind die Kurzmeldungen des Tages:

• Bei The CW steht die fünfte und letzte Staffel von "Jane the Virgin" im kommenden Jahr an. Allerdings scheint der Sender noch nicht genug zu haben und plant derzeit ein Spin-Off mit Hauptdarstellerin Gina Rodriguez. Das noch namenlose Projekt soll als Anthologieserie entwickelt und im Stil der Mutterserie weitergeführt werden. Die erste Staffel soll sich mit dem Roman von Jane Villanueva beschäftigen. Valentina Garza schreibt das Drehbuch.
• In der vierten Staffel von "Supergirl" taucht eine neue Schurkin auf. Dabei handelt es sich um Pamela Ferrer alias Menagerie, die erstmals 2001 in den Comics auftauchte. Gespielt wird sie von Jessica Meraz ("Major Crimes").
• Kevin Hart wurde als Gastgeber der Oscars 2019 bekannt gegeben. Die mittlerweile 91. Verleihung wird am 24. Februar 2019 von ABC ausgestrahlt. Hart gab seine Verpflichtung selbst auf Instagram bekannt.

For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same...I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s suppose to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time....To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time....I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. I appreciate the @TheAcademy for the opportunity ....now it’s time to rise to the occasion #Oscars
