Tom NICHT als Superman - Staffel 4 die letzte?

Vor einigen Tagen hat Produzent Jeph Loeb endgültig mit den Spekulationen über den Superman-Film aufgeräumt. Tom Welling wird nach seinen Aussagen nicht auf der Kinoleinwand als Superheld zu sehen sein. Die Gründe sind einfach: Die Serie Smallville wird noch über mindestens zwei weitere Staffeln fortbestehen, dies würde für den Film bedeuteten, dass er frühestens in zwei Jahren gedreht werden könnte. In einem Interview sagte Loeb, dass es Pläne für eine fünfte Staffel und für Staffeln darüber hinaus gibt - die vierte Staffel wird also lange nicht die letzte sein: We've got plans for Season 5 and beyond! It's a blast, we're not leaving this party until it's over and we've stolen all the chairs!

Momentan steckt die Crew mitten in den Dreharbeiten für die vierte Staffel, die noch in diesem Monat (22.9.) in den USA anläuft. In Deutschland startet Ende Oktober die dritte Staffel, einen genauen Termin hat RTL noch nicht bekannt gegeben.

BT: Okay, on to Smallville - How's season 4 shaping up? There's a lot of rumor and speculation flowing freely(and recklessly!) around the internet and at conventions. Can you clear some things up for fans of the show -- As of right now, is the Smallville team treating season 4 as the show's last season?

Jeph Loeb: NO! We've got plans for Season 5 and beyond! It's a blast, we're not leaving this party until it's over and we've stolen all the chairs!

BT: In a perfect world, where tv shows and movies don't have to compete for characters and filming time, how would you feel about Tom Welling as Superman on either the large or small screen.

Jeph Loeb: It would be great to have Tom play Superman in the movie -- it's the perfect transition. But that would push the movie back two years since we're planning through Season 6 at least and that's not going to happen. They'll find someone great -- they always do!
