1. What is your favorite moment of your childhood?
That is such a difficult question! I had a great childhood, so I have a lot of favorite memories. One that stands out is when I got my dog, Champy, when I was 7. I always wanted a dog, but my parents didn't really want to get one because they knew it was a lot to take care of. One day, my mom and dad told my brother and I that we had to go to the airport to pick up a special fancy printer that they ordered. Of course, now I know that no one goes to pick up printers at airports, but being just seven years old, I begrudgingly agreed to go with them all the way to the airport to pick up the printer. The plane we were waiting for was delayed, so we ended up waiting in the airport for over two and a half hours. I started getting antsy bored and annoyed that we were doing all of this for a printer! When the plane finally arrived, an airport attendant brought a crate-like carrying box to us, and inside was the most beautiful sweet golden retriever puppy! I was so surprised and excited! As we excitedly carried our new member of the family out of the airport to the car, my brother asks in all seriousness, "mom, wheres the printer???"!! We still laugh about that.
2. When and why did you decide to become an actress?
I always loved performing and entertaining, even as a child. I started modeling when I was 14, started taking acting classes at age 15 and instantly fell in love with it and knew that it was what I wanted to do. It's a passion of mine and I am so lucky I get to do what I love.
3. How did you become a part of the cast of "30 Rock"? Was ist by chance or did you audition for the part of Cerie Xerox?
I auditioned for "30 Rock", just a normal audition process. It did all happen quickly though. I auditions, and a few days later read with Tina and about two days later found out I got the part. It was very exciting!
4. What do you think is special about "30 Rock" in contrast to other comedy shows?
"30 Rock" is a smart, witty comedy with such great writing and a great cast. All of this combined makes the show work so well. The story lines stay very current, relatable, and are packed with jokes and references of all different kinds.
5. Were you moved by any of the storylines in particular?
The scripts never fail to make me laugh! I love reading them and finding out what hilarious new shorelines the writers have come up with. Our table reads for new episode scripts are always so fun and incredibly entertaining.
6. How can we imagine a typical day on set?
Typical days on set are long, but a lot of fun. I love going to set- when working with the cast, its difficult to have a dull moment! Everyone is hilarious and so great to be around, and in our fourth year together as cast and crew, we feel so comfortable with each other, like a big family.
7. Do you see your future in film or television? What genre do you prefer - comedy, crime, mystery or drama?
I want to continue doing television and making films. I want to do more films and challenge myself with different roles. I love comedy, but also love drama and want to play more dramatic roles to show my range. A balance of all, for me, is ideal! I want to work with great actors and directors and continue to learn and enhance my abilities.
8. Is there a show currently airing which you would like to play a part in? What kind of part would you like to play if you could choose?
I really love "Lost", but unfortunately it is going into its final season so it's too late to play a role in that! I also really like "Mad Men", I would love to play a part in that show if given the opportunity. It's so beautifully shot, and it would be such a cool experience to play a part in a drama set in a different era.
If I could choose a part to play, it would be a dramatic challenging role that is against the type I usually am cast in. Something edgy dark or emotional.
9. Are there any new projects coming up that you can tell us about?
I did two films this past summer: "Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil" and "A True Story". Tucker and Dale is a comedy with a horror twist. Its a great story that accomplishes comedy and horror at the same time very well. A true Story is a great comedy with very likable characters and twists. I think the story is relatable, very funny and touching. Both are in post-production now.
10. Since myFanbase is an online magazine about TV series, do you have a favorite one?
"30 Rock" of course!! Other than that: "Top Chef", "Mad Men", "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" and "Lost" are my other favorites.
