Über Alexander Woo ist kaum etwas bekannt. Er arbeitete bereits als Drehbuchautor für die Serien "Wonderfalls" (2004) und "LAX" (2004-2005). Beide Serien haben aber nur je eine Staffel produziert. Dafür war er häufiger für die Serien "Sleeper Cell" (2006) und "True Blood" (2008-2009) als Produzent und Drehbuchautor tätig. Mit letzterer war er sogar für den Writers Guild of America Award (2009) nominiert. 2019 übernahm er die Leitung der zweiten Staffel der AMC-Serie "The Terror", die den Titel "The Terror: Infamy" trug.
